A bourbon designed to emulate the original 1870 process used by George Gavin Brown. Three barrels from different warehouses, different days of production, and different barrel entry proof are blended together to produce Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Whisky. On the nose clove notes spice up a medley of citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit, blood orange), all softened with a delicate, sweet, floral honeysuckle character. On the palate, baking spices (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg) flow into a citrus-fruit mix and shortbread sweetness. The finish is soft, with lingering fruit and spice character.
